Woke up this morning and decided that I want to visit with some family and friends so I started researching bike trails over a cup of coffee. I decided to ride to downtown like normal but then take a detour through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge. It sounded like a nice ride and it was at the beginning. Then I got to the Arsenal.
This was one of the worst paths that I’ve ever taken on a road bike. I figured that the unpaved areas would be the compacted dirt and gravel and boy was I wrong. Loose gravel everywhere. I almost crashed a few times before deciding to just ride on the street next to the path which turned out to be a highway without a shoulder. You don’t know fear until you share the road on a bicycle with cars that are going 60 mph. Once again, cars suck.
