Last ride of July and I had problems. First, I couldn’t connect to the scrum phone call from the trail. I could make other calls but couldn’t connect to the conference line. This pales in comparison to my next struggle.
For about two weeks I’ve been having problems with my front tube valve. I have one of those tubes with the slim inside that’s supposed to clog any holes caused by road debris. It does such a great job clogging holes that it ended up clogging the valve so I couldn’t get any air into the tube without a lot of effort. This wasn’t a terrible problem so I kept putting it off. Today it finally became a show-stopper. I felt the front tire very low so I tried to use my portable pump to add air only, I couldn’t get the valve to accept air from the pump. It was clogged. I ended up having to put my spare on right in the middle of my commute. This, of course, mad me late for work and I also needed to make a stop at REI to use an actual air pump. Today sucks but at least I’m not stuck in traffic.
